The Power of Sight

At Northern Utah Eye Center, we believe in the power of sight. We strive to provide our patients with the highest quality eye care, but our commitment goes beyond the walls of our office. Dr. Nilson, one of our ophthalmologists, regularly travels to Ghana on humanitarian missions to provide life-changing cataract surgery and eye care to those in need.

Cataracts are a leading cause of blindness worldwide, and they are particularly prevalent in developing countries like Ghana. Without access to proper healthcare, many individuals lose their sight to this treatable condition. Dr. Nilson and others volunteer their time and expertise to perform cataract surgeries, restoring vision and hope to countless individuals. The impact of their work is remarkable, as patients who were once unable to see their families, work, or enjoy the beauty of the world around them are able to regain their independence.

This commitment to humanitarian work is an inspiration to us all, and it serves as a reminder of the important role that eye care can play in building a better world. If you are interested in learning more about Dr. Nilson’s work in Ghana, please visit our website or contact our office.
